I will be implementing the media gallery on the site soon.
Right now, things are on schedule for the Last Girl shoot, so I have been focusing on some
other preproduction work that needs to get done.

Just a FYI, the site should really be active around the middle of May.
So keep checking back, and don’t hesitate to ask if you have any quesitons.

I do expect to be changing the theme up on the site soon, however.

Initial casting

So I have cast Hilary Heath in the role of the Last Girl.
Hilary has an impressive resume and a great screen presence.
Luckily, I was able to reach terms with her, and she is onboard for the production.

Location, Location, Location…

Preproduction continues with this past weekend more location scouting, gathering some initial background plates for the matte artists to begin laying out the rough comps of the set extensions.
Not alot to show here yet, as it’s all still pending approval, but things are moving along smoothly.

I will get more images up here over the next couple of months, as more final comps are bought off on.

Preproduction begins on Last Girl

The second rewrite of the script was started this weekend to incorporate some exciting new locations we will be using.

We also got in the initial score from our composer. I am very excited by the quality of the music for the film. Actual orchestral arrangements, not a bunch of synthed mood music.
Some scouting shots were done at the locations, and the digital mattes are undergoing the initial revisions, so things are moving along very well.

We will be shooting on the DVX-100b, over a 6 week schedule in May and June. The film will be in post for the rest of the summer and fall.
I plan on having the movie ready for the festival circuit (or sold to a distributor) by Jan 09.

The renderfarm for the FX works are almost complete, and the studio for the composite shots has been secured.

More work on the one sheets and some tweaks to the style guide took place this weekend as well.
Initial casting has already begun, and an open call will go out in April to fill out the cast and remaining crew needed.

I am very excited about this project, and look forward everything taking off!

The Beginning…

The Last Girl in Texas is a feature length motion picture that will be shot in association with Broken Bow Studios and Primal FXS Studios.

Principle photography will begin in May 2008, with the post production process taking the summer and fall.
More news and information will be coming on a regular basis.

Look for photos, trailers, tutorials on the FX and production process, as well as behind the scenes interviews with cast and crew.
